About
A Cinephile’s Critiques logs my journey through mainstream movies. I’ve watched a lot of them. I’ve written a lot too. So, I thought I’d start writing about the films I’ve seen.
On these pages, you’ll find reviews of English-language movies. You won’t see any grades, stars, tomatoes, or thumbs. If a film is worth seeing, it’ll be filed under the micro-genre that fits it best. If no one but a die-hard could appreciate it, it’ll be filed under one of the “duds” categories.
The micro-genres are groups of films that are remarkably similar to each other in theme or setting. They’re probably a little more specific than the genres you’re used to. A few of them are movie directors, writers, or even recurring characters, who deserve a category of their own.
Enjoy the reviews and let me know what you think.
Hi Walter, you’ve got a nice start here. Keep it up (this is the hardest part!). I’ll check back from time to time.
Hi.
Thanks for the encouragement.
I plan to post every Friday, and I’ll see if I can get some extra reviews ready so I can still post through attacks of unforeseeable-events and writer’s block.
Hi Walter, the site is looking good so far. You have some nice reviews already written (I totally agree with you about “V for Vendetta”) so keep it up. I’m still trying to figure out a set date to post my reviews (every Tuesday, Friday, Sunday…?) but I don’t think I have the discipline built up yet. I hope that all goes well with your site.
